The Natural Reserve of Zompo The Schioppo

it is a protected area in the Abruzzese municipality of Morino,it (AQ) established by the Regional Law n ° 24 of the 29/05/87.

The City of Morino with the contribution of Legambiente manages the reserve since its establishment. The municipal administration, has been engaged for years in combining policies for safeguarding and enhancement of environmental resources with sustainable development projects, through actions that affect not only the region but the whole of Morino Valley Bush.

The many initiatives implemented and in place, often highly innovative for the area and the socio-economic situation in which it operates, tend to identify prospects for development and employment strongly linked with the region and its population.

Among the main lines of action are interventions aimed at the preservation and enhancement of the environmental co-financed by the European Community under the LIFE Nature program (first trance years 1997-2000 trance and second years 2003-2007), the restoration project of the village of Old Morino co-financed under the program Docup, interdisciplinary workshops and creative campus activated with funds Leader Plus.
It was concluded in 2003 also a process of Agenda 21 Local co-financed by the Ministry of the Environment, che ha prodotto la stesura di un Piano di Azione locale attraverso l’attivazione di laboratori di progettazione partecipata e Forum plenari aperti ai cittadini e ai vari portatori di interessi.

The parking areas of the Reserve are accessible every day of the week.

In the days of Easter, 25 April, 1 May, August and during the summer, l’accesso è regolato da un biglietto d’ingresso pari a 2,00 € a persona, except for children up to 6 anni e il pagamento del parcheggio di 2,00 € a macchina per l’intera giornata o frazione di essa.

I tavoli e i punti fuoco presenti sulle aree sosta sono prenotabili ed utilizzabili pagando l’affitto di 10,00 € per il tavolo singolo, con capienza di 8-10 persone oppure 20,00 € per il tavolo doppio con capienza massima di 20 persone.

I tavoli sono dislocati su due Aree sosta principali: Floor Sacramento, in prossimità dei parcheggi e posta più in basso e Piazzale lo Schioppo, raggiungibile tramite il primo tratto di sentiero natura (indicato nella cartografia come percorso A).
